PRIVACY POLICY

WHO WE ARE

BIG BASTARD'S AUDIO LAB ("BBAL", "we", "us") operates bigbastardsaudiolab.com and publishes the DAW SOLUTION software. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. For any privacy question, contact us at support@bigbastardsaudiolab.com.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a salted cryptographic hash — we cannot see your password).

Hardware identifier. DAW SOLUTION licenses are locked to a single computer. To generate your license we collect a hardware fingerprint — a 40-character identifier derived from your machine's configuration. It does not contain personal information and cannot be reversed into details about your computer's contents.

Purchase information. When you buy a product we record your order (product, amount, date) and your email. Payment is processed entirely by Stripe; your card number never touches our servers and we never store it.

License and download records. We keep records of licenses issued to you and log software downloads (including IP address and browser user-agent) to protect against fraud and abuse.

Beta program telemetry. If you participate in the beta program, DAW SOLUTION periodically checks in with our server to validate your beta license. A check-in includes your tester ID, hardware fingerprint, license ID, and app version — nothing about your projects, audio, or files.

Cookies. We use only the cookies required to operate the site: a session cookie to keep you logged in and a security (CSRF) cookie. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information above to create and manage your account; process purchases and deliver licenses; lock licenses to your hardware and validate them; provide downloads and support; prevent fraud, license abuse, and unauthorized distribution; and send transactional email such as receipts and license delivery. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service: Stripe (payment processing), Render (application hosting, United States), and Backblaze (file storage for downloads and images, United States). Each receives only the information required to perform its function and operates under its own privacy policy.

DATA RETENTION

We retain account, order, and license records for as long as your account exists, and thereafter as required for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes — license records in particular must persist so your perpetual license keeps working. Download logs and beta telemetry are retained only as long as needed for security and support.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

You may access and update your account information at any time from your dashboard. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request deletion of your account, by emailing support@bigbastardsaudiolab.com. Note that deleting your account may invalidate your ability to re-download licenses, and we may retain records we are legally required to keep. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor verified requests consistent with those laws.

SECURITY

All traffic to the site is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Licenses are cryptographically signed. Downloads are served through short-lived signed links. No system is perfectly secure, but we design ours so that a breach of any single component exposes as little as possible.

CHILDREN

Our products and site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
