Audio Editing Overhaul

DAW SOLUTION — What's New v3.0.3 — Audio Editing Overhaul Editing Fixes Clip edits now affect what you hear. Splitting, trimming, and deleting time ranges previously changed only the timeline view while the full original audio continued to play. Exports and bounces now match playback exactly. Clip fades and gain are now applied during playback in all playback modes. Clip time-stretch and pitch settings now affect playback. Undo now covers trimming, delete range, silence range, ripple delete, and insert silence. Splitting, copying, and pasting a clip now preserves its volume, gain, fades, mute state, and stretch/pitch settings. Trimming a clip's start no longer shifts its audio out of alignment, and clips can no longer be extended past the available audio. Insert Silence now splits clips at the insert point instead of leaving them unchanged. Silencing a time range no longer produces a click at the edges. Normalize now measures only the selected clip's own region and is no longer limited to +6 dB of correction. Your Audio Files Are No Longer Modified Offline processing — Normalize, Reverse, Remove DC Offset, Remove Silence, Declip, Time Stretch, and Pitch Shift — no longer overwrites your original recordings. Results are saved as new files, and every operation can be undone. Projects Saved projects now retain clip volume, mute state, color, fade shapes, and stretch/pitch settings. Projects saved in earlier versions open normally and are unchanged. New Automatic crossfades where clips overlap on a track. Your own fades take priority when you have set them. Snap Edits to Zero Crossings, for click-free splits and trims. Found in the Process menu and enabled by default. Selectable fade shapes: Linear, Equal Power, Exponential, and S-Curve, in Clip Properties.

New Fixes and Updates

DAW SOLUTION — What's New v3.0.2 — Stability & Audio Quality Update Crashes Fixed Intelligent Sample Library no longer crashes on first open. Scan progress now saves as it goes. AI Drum Tools no longer double-triggers pads. Melodex (Hum-to-MIDI) no longer crashes during recording, and you can now record more than one take per session. Arrangement Assistant no longer crashes if you close it while it's analyzing. Smart Recording, Mix Assistant, and Track Alignment are all safe to close mid-analysis. Fixed a crash in the audio mixer that could occur during playback. Audio Quality AI Stem Separation: fixed the distortion reported by beta testers. Stems now export as 32-bit float. Also fixed "Separation failed" on MP3, M4A, and AAC files. Mid/Side EQ: eliminated clicking and crackling during playback. Mastering saturation is dramatically cleaner — the tape, tube, and transistor modes no longer add harshness to cymbals and vocals. The mix bus is now transparent. Master output is bit-perfect at unity gain; the previous Equal-power panning keeps a sound at a consistent level as you pan it. (The old behavior is still selectable.) Features Fixes Frequency Ducking and Collision Detection in the Network EQ now function. Mastering limiter: the Ceiling control now sets your true-peak ceiling. Presets deliver exactly the same levels as before. Save/Load in the AI Drum Pattern Generator now works. Mix Assistant no longer flags well-balanced mixes as having EQ problems, and its loudness readings are accurate. Smart Recording no longer rates a silent take above a real performance. Track Alignment now works on recordings with a DC offset, which it previously rejected. Alignment accuracy improved 45×. Chat Assistant commands now apply the correct values — effects, EQ, and pan settings. Scale & Chord Helper now names chords correctly. Session View: "Assign Clip from File" now actually loads the file you pick. MIDI Learn: deleted mappings stay deleted. Beat detection is now correct at 128, 145, 150, and 180 BPM, which previously read at half speed. Performance Smart Recording analysis is up to 20× faster. Network EQ uses less CPU than before, and is more accurate. The Step Sequencer holds steady timing when you change tempo or step count during playback. Windows no longer shows "Not Responding" during long analysis operations. Interface Added an output peak meter and Auto Headroom option to the Mid/Side processor. The in-app Chat Assistant knowledge base grew from 88 to 139 topics, now covering loudness targets, ASIO/WASAPI setup, monitoring, saturation, synthesis, and DAW SOLUTION's own features. Your Chat Assistant API key is now saved securely between sessions instead of being re-entered each launch. Melodex (Hum-to-MIDI) is a preview feature available during v3.0 beta testing. It ships as a full feature in DAW SOLUTION v4.0.
