PLATFORM
DAW SOLUTION runs on Windows only. FL Studio, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Studio One, and Reaper all run on both Windows and macOS. If you work on a Mac, one of them is your answer, not us. We would rather tell you that here than take your money and disappoint you.
WHERE WE THINK WE WIN
ONE PRICE, ONE VERSION
There is no Intro, no Producer, no Suite, no Ultimate. You pay $149.99 and you have the whole program. Nothing is held back for a higher tier, and you will never find out mid-project that the feature you need is in an edition you did not buy.
NO SUBSCRIPTION, NO UPDATE TREADMILL
You are not renting. You are not paying annually to keep receiving updates. Buy it once, and v3.x updates are included. If we stopped publishing tomorrow, your copy would keep working.
THE AI TOOLS ARE INCLUDED
Mix assistant, vocal suite, mastering suite, and stem separation are part of the program, not add-ons or a higher edition. Elsewhere, comparable tooling often means a top-tier edition or third-party plugins.
WHERE WE DO NOT
Reaper is cheaper.
At $60 for a discounted licence, Reaper is the best raw value in this table and it is not close. It is also endlessly scriptable and runs on almost anything. If price is your only criterion, buy Reaper.
We are new. They are not.
FL Studio, Live, and Pro Tools have decades of tutorials, forums, templates, preset packs, and engineers who already know the shortcuts. We have none of that yet. If you want to type a question into YouTube and get forty answers, that is a real advantage and we do not have it.
Pro Tools is the studio standard.
If you deliver sessions to commercial studios or work in post, the interchange expectations are Pro Tools. No amount of feature parity changes what a facility asks you to hand them.
Live owns performance workflow.
Ableton's Session View and its place in live electronic performance are not something a spec sheet argues with. If you play out, that is what you should be learning.
